Since the launch of the construction of the electricity spot market in 2017, China has made positive progress in the construction of electricity spot market, and the spot market model suitable for China's national conditions has gradually taken shape under the unified guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and China National Energy Administration (Chine NEA) and with the organization and coordination of local government competent authorities as well as the great efforts from all relevant parties. Among them, the first batch of spot pilot provinces have carried out multiple rounds of trial settlement operation, and the second batch has been actively and steadily promoting their market construction. As a pioneer in the energy revolution, Shanxi Province, among the first batch of provinces carrying out spot market pilot construction, has been in steady trial operation for more than one and a half years, and has made outstanding achievements in electricity market reform.
In order to summarize the effectiveness of the market reform, exchange the market construction dynamics, gather consensus among all parties in the industry, and look forward to the market development trend, the “2023 Electricity Market Spring Forum” will be held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, which is themed by “Guarantee electric power supply, Stabilize growth and Promote transition - Spot market contributes to comprehensive reform pilot in energy revolution”, aiming to build an open communication platform, help Shanxi Province to create an energy revolution model, and unite all parties to push forward the construction of a unified national electricity market system. The Summit will be organized by organizations including the National Power Dispatching Control Center, Shanxi Provincial Energy Administration, State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company, China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., Nanjing NARI Group Corporation, State Grid Energy Research Institute Co., Ltd, and Beijing Nengjian Technology Development Co., Ltd., and will be co-organized by Guangzhou Futures Exchange.

Electricity Market International Summit
On May 21-22, 2017, the “1st Electricity Market International Summit” was held, which was jointly sponsored by China Energy Resources Development Forum and China Electricity Market Industrial Technology (Nanjing) Forum and organized by the Automation Institute of China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) and Beijing Nengjian Technology Development Co., Ltd. At the conference, which was themed "Development Prospects of China's Electricity System Reform and Electricity Market Trading", 14 keynote speeches and five roundtable discussions were conducted, attended by a total of 1,200 attendees from more than 200 enterprises in the industry.

On June 26-27, 2018, the “2nd Electricity Market International Summit”, jointly organized by CEPRI and Beijing Nengjian Technology Development Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Beijing. At the conference, which was themed by “New Era, New Power, New Market”, nine keynote speeches and five roundtable discussions were conducted, attended by a total of 1,200 professional practitioners, which attracted wide attention in the whole industry.

Electricity Market International Summit
On September 27-28, 2021, CEPRI, NARI Group Corporation, State Grid Energy Research Institute, and Beijing Nengjian Technology Development Co., Ltd. co-organized the “2021 (4th) Electricity Market International Summit” in which topics related to the construction of electricity spot market and new energy absorption under the Carbon Peak and Neutrality goals were studied and discussed. More than 600 people from over 200 enterprises participated in this Summit.
In June 2021, as an important part of the 4th Electricity Market International Summit, the “Electric Power Innovation Association” platform was officially launched, and the series of “Spot Electricity Lecture” public welfare courses were carried out simultaneously. The Lecture is now in its third phase, with a total of 1.25 million viewers. The “Electric Power Innovation Association” aims to become the most professional one-stop charging platform for electricity reform, focusing on electricity reform, boosting the energy revolution, grasping market trends, and empowering industrial development.
